Nazlı Akbaş is a Research Assistant at Gaziantep University's Faculty of Communication, Department of Radio, Television and Cinema. She holds a doctorate in Paleoanthropology from Ankara University (2015–2021) and two undergraduate degrees from the same institution in Anthropology. Her academic focus spans Physical Anthropology, Paleoanthropology, Archaeometry, and Biometrics.
Her research explores ancient Anatolian cultures through burial customs, skeletal analysis, and cultural practices. She has participated in 21 archaeological field projects across Turkey, including excavations at Euromos Antik Kenti, Dara Antik Kenti, and rescue operations at Ilısu Barajı. Her fieldwork emphasizes Bronze/Iron Age settlements, battlefield surveys (e.g., Ankara Meydan Savaşı), and ethno-medical studies of Syrian migrants in Gaziantep.
Teaching experience includes courses in Anthropology, Demography, Statistical Methods, and Civilization History. She holds additional certifications in Data Analytics (Python/SQL), EU Project Writing, and underwater diving.
