Sergey Safonov serves as Deputy Director of the Project Center for Energy Transition and ESG Education and holds the academic rank of Professor of the Practice. With over 23 years of industrial R&D experience spanning academia and global energy organizations, he has led cross-disciplinary research initiatives and digital innovation programs.

• BSc and MSc in Applied Physics and Mathematics from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (1998)
• PhD in Physics from the University of Exeter (2002)

Safonov's research integrates Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Data Analytics with experimental physics, focusing on dynamic systems modeling for fluid mechanics and thermal processes.
