معرفی
Serena Schwenkert is a Researcher at Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich (LMU), affiliated with the Department of Plant Sciences. Her work focuses on chloroplast metabolite and protein transport mechanisms, particularly under abiotic stress conditions. She holds a PhD in Biology from LMU (2006-2008) and a Habilitation in Botany and Cell Biology (2014). She has held academic positions including Akademische Oberrätin auf Zeit and served as an interim professor for Evolutionary Cell Biology (2016-2017).
Her research explores plant stress responses, chloroplast development, and photosynthetic complex assembly. Key areas include the role of TPR proteins in organelle function, mitochondrial and chloroplast mRNA regulation, and flavonoid metabolism in cold acclimation. She leads the AG Leister research group and has been recognized with the Bayerische Gleichstellungsförderung Post-Habil-Stipend (2014-2015).
Recent publications highlight her work on stress tolerance mechanisms, organelle communication, and protein transport pathways. Her studies bridge basic plant biology with applied stress adaptation research, contributing to understanding how plants optimize survival under environmental challenges.
