Jörg Nickelsen

Prof. Dr. Jörg Nickelsen serves as Professor in the Department of Biology I - Botany at LMU Munich's Faculty of Biology, leading the Molecular Plant Sciences research group at the Biozentrum in Planegg-Martinsried.

His research focuses on molecular mechanisms in plant systems, specializing in chloroplast function, photosynthetic apparatus assembly, and genetic regulation in algae and higher plants. Current investigations target light-dependent protein transport systems and stress response pathways in photosynthetic organisms.

Based in room E03.023 at Grosshaderner Strasse 2-4, Prof. Nickelsen maintains active laboratory operations with direct access to greenhouse facilities and advanced molecular imaging resources.
