Assoc. Prof. Dr. Semra YILMAZER KESKİN is affiliated with the Faculty of Science, Department of Chemistry at Sakarya University. She has been active in academic roles since 2011 and continues to teach and conduct research in biochemistry, biotechnology, and environmental chemistry.
- Research Focus: Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Enzymology, Environmental Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Nanotechnology
- Teaching: Courses include Biochemistry I/II, Biotechnology, Enzyme Immobilization, Specialization Area, and others.
Her research involves biotransformation of organic compounds using fungi, enzyme immobilization techniques, and nanoparticle-based analytical methods. She has supervised numerous graduate theses and participated in multiple research projects, including those funded by TÜBİTAK and university grants. Her work spans antioxidant analysis, metal biosorption, and microbial degradation of dyes and steroids.
She has published extensively in journals such as Antioxidants, Heliyon, and Biomass Conversion and Biorefinery, focusing on phytochemical analyses, dye bioremediation, and nanosensor development. Her recent articles explore the biotransformation of complex organic molecules and environmental applications of fungal systems.
Dr. YILMAZER KESKİN serves as a supervisor for research projects and has contributed to the development of analytical techniques for amino acid detection. She also engages in technology transfer via enzyme immobilization and nanoparticle functionalization for biosensing.
