Selwyn Ting

Selwyn Ting is the Associate Director of Graduate Architecture Programs and Associate Professor of Practice at the University of Southern California’s School of Architecture, where he has been a faculty member since 2001. He also serves as the NAAB Coordinator and teaches graduate and undergraduate architectural design courses, including ARCH 500aL (Comprehensive Architectural Design) and undergraduate studio. His academic leadership includes advising M.Arch students and coordinating critical design studios.

He holds a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Vermont and an M.Arch from the University of Colorado. Prior to academia, he gained professional experience at firms like Morphosis Architects, leading projects such as the Science Center School (winner of an AIA Next-LA Award) and E! Productions Broadcast Studio. His work emphasizes architectural design, urban contexts, and sustainable practices, with publications in journals like GA, A+U, and Architectural Record.

Ting directed the France Study Abroad Programs (2004–2009) and co-edited IDWRK (2009–2011), showcasing student work. His current practice focuses on residential and educational projects in Los Angeles. Awards and recognitions highlight his contributions to architectural excellence and education.
