Selma Salihovic is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at Örebro University, Sweden, affiliated with the LEADER - Center for Lifespan Developmental Research. She holds a PhD in Psychology (2013) and serves as Vice Dean for strategic development and education at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. Her research focuses on developmental psychology, particularly the emergence of psychopathic traits and antisocial behavior in adolescents, exploring interactions between environmental factors (parenting, peers), biological mechanisms (emotion regulation), and personality traits. She teaches research methods, statistics, and supervises psychology theses.
Current research projects include Project FIRE, examining threats/harassment in everyday environments. Active in the Family and Parenting research group and PSF@ORU steering committee.
Publications emphasize longitudinal studies on psychopathic trajectories, ADHD-antisocial behavior links, and bidirectional parent-child dynamics. Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate courses in psychology methodology and supervision.
