Selin Sivis is a Research Fellow at the Department of Sociology, University of Sussex, within the School of Law, Politics and Sociology. She holds a PhD from the University of Essex and has held visiting research positions at the University of Konstanz, Germany; Yaşar University, Turkey; and Çukurova University, Turkey.

Selin’s research focuses on international migration, work and employment, social exclusion, global and public health, welfare systems, and multilevel governance. Her work bridges sociology and criminology, examining refugee integration, labor market dynamics, and policy implementation.
Recent publications explore care home pandemic resilience, Syrian refugee housing in Türkiye, emotional ambivalence in transit migration, and healthcare access disparities. Her studies span journals like the British Journal of Sociology, Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies, and Migration Studies.
She collaborates with institutions in the UK, Austria, Germany, and Turkey, contributing to policy frameworks for refugee integration and regional conflict resolution.
