Selin Erkul

Selin Erkul is a Research Assistant at the College of Engineering, Istanbul Technical University, specializing in Civil Engineering. Her work focuses on structural mechanics, steel structures, and engineering design.

• Education: PhD in Structural Engineering (2022), MSc in Structural Engineering (2018), BSc in Civil Engineering (2014) from Istanbul Technical University.
• Work Experience: Former Structural Design Engineer at Tekfen Engineering Inc. (2019-2022).

Research interests include analyzing nonlinear behavior in bolted connections under cyclic loading, structural resilience, and steel construction techniques. Her 2023 publication examines seismic performance of I-shaped beam-to-column connections using extended end plates.

Academic Role: Currently contributes to structural engineering research at Istanbul Technical University's Civil Engineering Department.
