Selim Birsel

Selim Birsel is a multidisciplinary artist and Lecturer in Visual Arts and Visual Communication Design at Sabancı University. His work spans painting, sculpture, installation, video, photography, and performance, often incorporating unconventional materials like found objects. He explores themes of urban spaces, cultural memory, and alternative futures through poetic interventions.

Birsel has exhibited internationally, including solo shows at Öktem Aykut Gallery and group exhibitions at Arter Istanbul and Daejeon Museum of Art. He co-directs Sabancı University's KASA Gallery and is a directing member of BJCEM. His practice emphasizes community-driven projects and hidden narratives in postcolonial contexts.
