Professor Selena Bartlett is a faculty member in the School of Clinical Sciences at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), specializing in brain health and neuroplasticity. She holds a PhD from the University of Queensland and has over 30 years of research experience in neuroscience, focusing on translational strategies to improve mental health and neurodegenerative disease outcomes. Her work emphasizes prevention and personalized approaches, leveraging neuroplasticity to address adverse childhood experiences (ACES) and their intergenerational impacts.
Her research interests span pharmacology, obesity, clinical sciences, and genomics, with a particular focus on the effects of sugar, alcohol, and environmental factors on brain health. She has authored over 100 publications, three books, and co-founded digital brain health solutions. Notable achievements include the Lawrie Austin Award for Neuroscience and the Biotech Research Award.
Professor Bartlett’s recent publications explore topics such as cognitive function in relation to beverage consumption, the role of early life stress in neurological diseases, and the impact of screen time on youth mental health. She actively advocates for brain health awareness through her podcast Thriving Minds and public speaking engagements, emphasizing actionable neuroscience insights for daily resilience and well-being.
