Jamie Bartlett

Jamie Bartlett, Ph.D., is a Lecturer in the Kinesiology & Sport Management department at Gonzaga University's School of Education. Prior to joining Gonzaga full-time, she served as the Director of the Lincoln LGBTQ+ Resource Center. Dr. Bartlett's academic background includes a doctorate in Integrative Physiology from the University of Colorado and additional advanced degrees in Entrepreneurship, Sustainability, Nonprofit Leadership, and Kinesiology.

Dr. Bartlett's research focuses on military health, particularly the intersection of physical fitness, traumatic brain injury (TBI), and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) among service members. She investigates biomechanics of human movement, including muscle function in walking, running, and climbing, and explores the application of virtual rehabilitation technologies like the Computer Assisted Rehabilitation Environment (CAREN) to improve therapeutic outcomes. Her work also extends to nonprofit leadership and sports management, informed by her academic training and professional roles.

Jamie Bartlett's peer-reviewed publications examine military fitness testing, traumatic brain injury recovery, and biomechanical efficiency in movement. Her research trends highlight the physiological and cognitive impacts of heavy load carriage, gender neutrality in combat fitness, and the use of immersive virtual environments for rehabilitation and performance optimization.

Jamie Bartlett founded The 509 Syndicate, the first soccer supporter group for professional teams in Spokane. She resides with her wife, an ER physician, their daughter, and four pets. Outside of academia, she engages in woodworking, gardening, and community initiatives.
