Segun Ogunjemiyo is a full Professor in the Department of Geography and City and Regional Planning at California State University, Fresno. He has served as department chair and interim Dean of the College of Social Sciences. Dr. Ogunjemiyo received his PhD in Micrometeorology from McGill University (1999), MSc in Eremology from Ghent University (1993), and B.Tech in Meteorology from Federal University of Technology, Akure, Nigeria (1988).

His research focuses on climate change, air quality, and biosphere-atmosphere interactions, particularly the transport of air pollutants in the boundary layer. Current projects examine how heat waves, ozone, and particulate matter affect Central Valley residents. He leads grant applications for his department, securing funding from NSF, USDA’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture, and the Agricultural Research Institute.
Dr. Ogunjemiyo teaches courses in Air Quality, Meteorology, Remote Sensing, and Climatic Hazards. His interdisciplinary research spans environmental science, atmospheric physics, and urban health impacts.
