Sebastian Thompson Parga

Sebastian Thompson Parga is an Assistant Research Professor (tenure track) and Principal Investigator at IMDEA Nanoscience under the Madrid Institute for Advanced Studies. His research focuses on intracellular temperature measurements, integrating nanotechnology, cancer biology, and photodynamic therapy. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from City University of New York (CUNY) and has held postdoctoral positions at institutions such as Northwestern University and the Institute of Photonics Science.

He has received prestigious awards including the Marie Curie Fellowship, Retos Jovenes Investigadores 'A' grant (193,000 Euros), and CNIO Friend Fellowship. His laboratory explores nanothermometer design, plasmonic heating, and enzyme control via photothermal nanoheaters.
