معرفی
Dr. Sebastian Schellhammer serves as a Research Fellow and group leader at the Institute of Applied Physics within the Faculty of Physics at Dresden University of Technology (TU Dresden). Since 2022, he has led an independent research group in the Reineke group, focusing on advancing organic persistent emitter materials while actively pursuing his habilitation on synergizing material performance with research-oriented pedagogy.
Education:
- PhD in Multiscale Materials Simulations of Organic Semiconductors (2020, TU Dresden under Frank Ortmann and Gianaurelio Cuniberti)
Research Interests: His work pioneers thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) and room-temperature phosphorescence (RTP) systems for organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) and programmable luminescent tags (PLTs). By integrating multiscale simulations with experimental analysis, he investigates structure-property relationships in donor-acceptor-donor motif emitters, develops sustainable biodegradable alternatives using natural quinoline alkaloids and polylactic acid matrices, and advances minimalistic device architectures for information storage, sensing, and security applications with emphasis on environmental trade-offs.
Teaching Recognition:
- 2015 Teaching Award of the Association of Friends and Sponsors of TU Dresden
- 2025 Teaching Award of the Association of Friends and Sponsors of TU Dresden
- 2025 Ars Legendi Fakultätenpreis Physik
Dr. Schellhammer demonstrates exceptional commitment to pedagogy through prior roles as project coordinator in higher didactics (2017-2019) and liaison office coordinator for teacher education (2019-2022) at TU Dresden, where he shaped institutional teaching frameworks while receiving dual-year recognition for educational innovation.
Research Environment: He directs a specialized team within the Reineke group at TU Dresden's Institute of Applied Physics, driving collaborative projects that bridge fundamental photophysics with sustainable optoelectronic applications through dynamic host-guest material systems and green chemistry principles.
