Sebastian Porsdam Mann is an Assistant Professor at the Center for Advanced Studies in Bioscience Innovation Law, University of Copenhagen. He holds a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Cambridge and is pursuing a DPhil in International Human Rights Law at the University of Oxford. His research focuses on the intersection of blockchain, generative AI, and the human right to science, with a particular emphasis on ethical frameworks for emerging technologies.

His work explores regulatory conditions for novel technologies in scientific progress, including blockchain for biobanking and AI in clinical trials. He co-authored key publications such as The Right to Science: Then and Now (Cambridge University Press, 2021) and Scientific Freedom: The Heart of the Right to Science (Rowman & Littlefield, 2023). His AUTOGEN paper in AJOB is the most-read article in bioethics.
Scientific awards include a Carlsberg Foundation personal grant and a Novo Nordisk Foundation grant (NNF23SA0087056) for the Inter-CeBIL Programme. He has held postdoctoral positions at Harvard Medical School, University of Oxford, and University of Copenhagen.
