Sebastian Linnemayr is a Senior Economist at RAND Corporation and a Professor of Policy Analysis at the RAND School of Public Policy. His work integrates behavioral economics and public health to address chronic health behaviors, particularly in HIV/AIDS and global health contexts.
- Education: Ph.D. in Economics from Université de la Mediterranée; Research Fellow at Harvard School of Public Health.
Research Interests focus on applying behavioral economics to improve medication adherence, habit formation, and health outcomes in low-income and conflict-affected regions like Uganda and the Palestinian territories. His studies often combine insights from psychology and economics to design interventions for long-term behavior change.
Recent Publications highlight trends in behavioral economics for HIV treatment adherence, mixed-methods analysis of pandemic impacts on vulnerable populations, and the role of economic incentives in health interventions. His work spans randomized controlled trials, longitudinal studies, and feasibility assessments across Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East.
Grants include National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding for medication adherence interventions in Uganda. His projects frequently involve community-based approaches, SMS technology, and culturally tailored counseling to address health disparities.
