Sebastian Amos

Sebastian Amos is a Lecturer and Anatomy Discipline Lead at the UWA Medical School, The University of Western Australia. Since completing his PhD in Cancer Mechanobiology and Bioimage Informatics (2024), he has focused on leveraging 3D cell culture and quantitative imaging to study cancer progression and biomedical datasets.

• Teaches anatomy at UWA since 2017
• Developed FOCUST (3D segmentation software for ImageJ)
• Collaborated on stem cell, cardiac, and airway mechanobiology

His research spans bioimage analysis, tumor-immune biology, and novel optical/mechanical imaging, contributing to SDG goals like Good Health and Well-Being. Notable projects include:

• Adherent-to-Suspension Transition (cancer dissemination paradigm)
• 3D volumetric mechanosensation in stiffness gradients
• Antenatal creatine supplementation in fetal lung inflammation
