معرفی
Dr Sean Powell is a Senior Research Fellow at the School of Mechanical, Medical and Process Engineering, Queensland University of Technology (QUT). His interdisciplinary research bridges theoretical physics, computational modeling, and biomedical engineering, focusing on biofabrication, diffusion dynamics, and advanced manufacturing of prosthetics. He leads the Biofabrication and Tissue Morphology research group, collaborating with biologists, clinicians, and engineers.
- Doctor of Philosophy (QUT)
- BAppSci (QUT)
Research interests include:
- Computational modeling of particle diffusion
- MRI-based diffusion tensor analysis
- 3D bioprinting for prosthetics
- Melt electrospinning in tissue engineering
- Frugal smartphone-based medical imaging
- Advanced manufacturing of patient-specific scaffolds
Recent publications highlight his work on 3D scanning frameworks for external ear prosthetics, mechanical behavior of printed gyroid structures, and computational techniques for diffusion modeling in porous media. His team also explores augmented reality applications and sustainable biomaterial testing protocols.
Sean contributes to undergraduate physics education and interdisciplinary collaboration in regenerative medicine. The lab integrates quantitative physics with clinical and biological expertise to advance tissue morphology and prosthetic design.
