Sean Kennedy is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Communication and Director of Debate at the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. He holds a PhD from the University of Kansas and specializes in the rhetorics of economics, technological innovation, and public policy. His research explores how media discourses shape public perceptions of globalization, entrepreneurship, and economic inequality.

Research Interests: Kennedy investigates how rhetoric around technological innovation and economic policy influences societal structures. His work focuses on the 'Silicon Valley imaginary' and its role in mediating public understanding of innovation, as well as analyzing presidential rhetoric on labor issues like immigration reform.

Coaching & Debate Achievements: As a debater, Kennedy was Top Speaker at CEDA Nationals and a National Debate Tournament quarterfinalist. As a coach, he guided teams to victories in major tournaments including the Harvard Debate Tournament. His teaching focuses on argumentation, persuasion, and public speaking.
Labs/Teams: Directs the Trojan Debate Squad, emphasizing advocacy and rhetorical strategy.
