Ian Terrell Lowery is a full-time Lecturer in the Communication Department at George Mason University (GMU) and serves as Assistant Director of the GMU Debate Team. His roles include teaching courses on communication, debate, and public policy, alongside administering the nationally-ranked GMU Debate Team. He frequently travels with students to intercollegiate tournaments.
- Education: B.S. in Economics (George Mason University, 2018); M.A. in Communication Studies (James Madison University, 2022).
Research interests focus on Political Communication, Public Policy, and Instructional Design Pedagogy. His coaching achievements include guiding the JMU Debate Team to its highest national ranking and earning the Matthew Grindy Award for Excellence in Coaching from CEDA.
Advising and grants: He advises the GMU Debate Team and has secured team-related travel and competition funding. Labs/Teams: Directly oversees the GMU Debate Team, fostering student development in argumentation and public policy analysis.
