Sean Durkin is an Assistant Professor and Director of Bands at Saint Vincent College, part of the School of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. He leads the Marching Band, Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble, and Pep Band, while also serving as the applied low brass lesson instructor and teaching courses in music theory, history, and core curriculum.

Dr. Durkin’s research focuses on the biomechanics of brass instrument performance, examining the technical and physiological aspects of brass-playing techniques. His professional expertise spans classical, jazz, and contemporary music genres as a tenor and bass trombonist, composer, arranger, and private lesson instructor.

Outside of Saint Vincent College, he has performed and taught as a visiting artist at the Esteban Salas Music Conservatory in Santiago, Cuba, and is currently on staff with the award-winning Kiski Area High School Marching Band in Vandergrift, PA, where he teaches private music lessons.
