Sean Cubitt is a Professor of Screen Studies at the University of Melbourne's School of Culture and Communication, with prior roles including Professor of Film and Television at Goldsmiths, University of London, and Professor of Global Media and Communications at the University of Southampton. His academic career spans over three decades, focusing on Media Art History, Digital Aesthetics, and Ecocinema. He is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of the Humanities (2009) and has held prestigious roles such as series editor for Leonardo Books at MIT Press.

Sean’s work explores digital light technologies, the environmental impacts of media, and political aesthetics.
