Sean Beeman

LTC Sean Beeman is an Assistant Professor and Division Director in the Occupational and Environmental Health Sciences department at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS). His research focuses on vector-borne diseases, ecosystem surveillance, and environmental epidemiology, with a particular emphasis on arboviruses like Eastern equine encephalitis and Mayaro virus. He holds a PhD in Public Health from the University of South Florida (2017–2021), an MPH from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (2009–2011), and a BSc in Biology from the University of Texas at Arlington (1998–2000).

Beeman’s work integrates Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and ecological modeling to predict disease spread and optimize public health interventions. He has developed habitat suitability models for viruses such as West Nile and Mayaro, identifying high-risk areas in Florida and Central/South America.
