Scott T. Palasik is an Associate Professor in the Department of Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Akron's School of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. His research focuses on stuttering therapy, mindfulness-based interventions, and social cognition. He directs the Mindfulness Behaviors ACT and Social Cognition Stuttering Lab (MASS Lab), which explores implicit/explicit attitudes toward people who stutter using Implicit Association Tests (IAT) and digital technology. Additional research includes the impact of sound on eating behavior and media effects on speech-language development. Palasik holds a Ph.D. from Bowling Green State University, with prior clinical work in Chicago and academic roles at the University of Southern Mississippi.
