Mark Pellowski, Ph.D. is a Professor in the Department of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology at Towson University's College of Health Professions. His office is located in the Health Professions building (4140 EE) and he can be reached at 410-704-5899 or mpellowski@towson.edu.
Dr. Pellowski's research focuses on the intersection of mindfulness practices and speech disorders, particularly stuttering. His work examines the relationship between mindfulness and stuttering, speech rate and stuttering, and the assessment and treatment of fluency disorders across the lifespan. He has developed innovative approaches that incorporate mindfulness meditation exercises into stuttering treatment programs.
His publications and presentations demonstrate a strong commitment to advancing clinical practice in speech-language pathology, with particular attention to educational aspects for future clinicians. Dr. Pellowski has mentored numerous graduate students through research projects presented at the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association conventions.
Dr. Pellowski is certified by ASHA (CCC-SLP) and holds state licensure in Maryland and Pennsylvania for Speech-Language Pathology. His work bridges clinical practice, research, and education in the field of communication disorders.
