Scott Ross is a Lecturer in Sociocultural Anthropology at Washington University. He specializes in communications technology, conflict intervention, and African politics, with a focus on the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda. His research explores humanitarian interventions, media technology, and peacebuilding in these regions. Ross has conducted ethnographic studies on conflict early warning systems and radio's role in peacebuilding and counterinsurgency. He currently serves as a contributing editor at the Society for Cultural Anthropology, co-editing their social media team. His work appears in journals like African Studies Review, Anthropological Quarterly, and Journal of Linguistic Anthropology.
