Scott Rosenstein is a Visiting Lecturer at New York University’s School of Global Public Health, where he teaches courses on the geopolitics of pandemics, health diplomacy, and global health governance. He holds adjunct positions at Bard College, Fairfield University, and Adelphi University, and served as a Levermore Global Scholar Research Fellow. Previously, he worked at the Eurasia Group (political risk consulting) as Director and Senior Public Health Advisor, advising clients on pandemic preparedness and biosecurity. At the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), he contributed to global health programming, and led research at Rockefeller Foundation’s 100 Resilient Cities initiative to advance urban resilience frameworks.
Education: BA from Amherst College; MPH and Master of International Relations from Yale University.
Research interests span the intersection of public health and political strategy, focusing on how geopolitical dynamics influence global health policies and pandemic response mechanisms. His work examines pharmaceutical industry governance, healthcare infrastructure resilience, and the role of diplomacy in international health collaborations.
Co-founder of Restore Rockaway, an initiative supporting small businesses post-Hurricane Sandy, Rosenstein has been a term member at CFR and served on the Arthur Ross Book Award Nominating Committee. His analysis appears in major publications like the New York Times, Washington Post, and Foreign Policy, with frequent media commentary on CNN, Bloomberg, and international outlets.
