Scott Rick is an Associate Professor of Marketing at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business, holding a PhD in Behavioral Decision Research from Carnegie Mellon University (2007) and a post-doctoral fellowship at Wharton. His research focuses on the emotional drivers and consequences of consumer financial decisions, particularly the behaviors of tightwads and spendthrifts. He aims to understand deviations from economically rational or happiness-maximizing decisions and design interventions to improve consumer well-being.
