Dr. Scott Pound is a Professor in the Department of English at Lakehead University's College of Arts. He has been affiliated with Lakehead University since 2004, teaching across all levels of the curriculum from introductory courses to graduate seminars. His academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Poetics from SUNY at Buffalo (2000), an M.A. in English from Western University (1993), and a B.A. in English and Philosophy from the University of Prince Edward Island (1992).

Dr. Pound's research focuses on poetics, avant-garde poetry, literary history, media history, and literary/critical theory. He has contributed to journals such as PMLA, boundary2, Canadian Literature, and Amodern, which he co-founded. His teaching includes specialized courses in writing pedagogy, American literature, and graduate-level seminars on contemporary poetry.
Active in university governance, Dr. Pound has served as a Grievance Officer and chairs both the English Department Writing Committee and the university-wide Writing and Communications Committee. He also acts as faculty liaison to the English Students Association and student literary magazine The Artery, while engaging in community initiatives like the St. John Street Community Garden.
