John Gery is a Research Professor of Poetry in the Department of English at the University of New Orleans. He is also a member of the Women's and Gender Studies faculty, teaching both campus and online courses in creative writing and poetry. Gery serves as the Founding Director of the Ezra Pound Center for Literature in Brunnenburg, Italy, which has offered summer seminars for 27 years at Pound's family castle in northern Italy.
