Dr. Scott Moore is an Associate Professor and Assistant Department Chair in the History Department at Eastern Connecticut State University. He holds a Ph.D. in Modern European History from the University of Maryland, College Park. His research focuses on Central European identity formation, historical memory, and the intersection of folklore with contemporary society. He teaches courses on 19th- and 20th-century European history, emphasizing under-explored regions like Central Europe. Recent publications include The Witch of Pungo: Grace Sherwood in Virginia History and Legend (2024) and articles on Habsburg education policies and modern folklore phenomena like the Momo Challenge.
Dr. Moore has received prestigious awards including the 2025 Board of Regents Research Award and 2023 Teaching Award. His work bridges historical scholarship with engaging pedagogy, particularly in making Central European history accessible to students. Office hours are M/W/F 8:20-9:00 AM and 10:00-11:00 AM.
