Scott L Friedman

Dr. Scott L Friedman is a Professor of Medicine (Gastroenterology and Liver Diseases) at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He serves as Director of the Division of Liver Diseases and the Fibrosis Research Center, and co-Director of the Tisch Cancer Institute Liver Cancer Program.

Research Interests:Dr. Friedman's work focuses on the molecular mechanisms of hepatic fibrosis and cancer, particularly the role of hepatic stellate cells in liver pathology. His team develops anti-fibrotic therapies using animal and cell culture models, and conducts clinical trials for chronic liver disease. Recent articles highlight his expertise in liver disease progression, ECM regulation, and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis.
