Scott J. Roniger is an Associate Professor of Philosophy at Loyola Marymount University, holding the Fr. Robert H. Taylor, SJ Chair in Philosophy. He directs the Lonergan Center for Catholic Faith and Culture. His expertise spans Husserlian Phenomenology, Catholic Social Teaching, and philosophical intersections with literature and theology.
Education: PhD (2017) from The Catholic University of America; Ph.L. (2013) from Pontifical University of the Holy Cross; M.A. (2012) from the University of Chicago; advanced theology degrees from Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (2010-2011), all with high honors.
Research focuses on metaphysics, natural law, and the interplay between philosophy, theology, and literature. Recent work includes editing essays on Catholic social teaching and analyzing themes in Waugh's Brideshead Revisited. His publications explore topics like self-knowledge, divine friendship, and truth's philosophical foundations.
