Scott Groeniger is an Associate Professor and Print Media Area Chair at the University of Hawaii's Department of Art & Art History. He specializes in experimental printmaking, digital imaging, and cross-media art practices. His work explores themes of space colonization, environmental sustainability, and cultural transition through hybrid print techniques combining digital and traditional methods.
Key projects include the Lithopixel Refactory Collective, investigating off-world architecture and exoplanet mapping, and The Ping Yao Continuum, a video work examining cultural shifts in China's historic Ping Yao city. He has exhibited globally including at White Box Gallery (Australia), Pacific Rim International Print Exhibition (New Zealand), and Beijing Studio Center Gallery.
Teaching focuses on digital imaging and professional printmaking techniques through courses like ART 202 and ART 611-614. Research highlights include artist residencies in Amsterdam and Beijing, and solo exhibitions addressing urbanization and resource scarcity.
