János Barta is a Senior Lecturer and workshop manager in the Graphic Arts Department at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts since 2002, specializing in printmaking and graphic arts.
Education:
- MA, Graphic Arts, Hungarian University of Fine Arts (1995-2000) under Master András Baranyai
- Pécs Art Secondary School (1991-1995)
His artistic research investigates memory and cultural borders through screenprint and lithography, evidenced by international exhibitions like 'Memories' (Suluv Gallery, Serbia, 2004) and 'Erasing Borders' (Arlington Museum of Arts, USA, 2003). He actively participates in biennials including Miskolc Graphic Biennial and Taipei International Drawing Biennial.
Awards:
- Rome Scholarship from Eper Graphic Studio at Hungarian Academy in Rome (2000)
- Special Prize at Hungarian University of Fine Arts Screenprint Exhibition (1998)
As workshop manager, Barta mentors students in graphic techniques and leads international collaborations such as the 'Bp. - Utrecht - Bp.' workshop with Grafisch Atelier Utrecht (2003). He maintains memberships in the National Association of Hungarian Artists and Hungarian Association of Fine and Applied Artists (Graphic Department) since 2003.
