Florentia Oikonomidou

Florentia Oikonomidou is an Associate Professor at the University of the Aegean's Department of Product and Systems Design Engineering in Syros. She specializes in Fine Arts, with a focus on painting, printmaking, installations, and digital media. Her work integrates new technologies like video animation and digital prints. She teaches courses in Drawing, Color, and Print Art in undergraduate and graduate programs.

Education: She studied at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts (Paris), the Athens School of Fine Arts under professors Nicos Kessanlis and Thanassis Exarchopoulos, and completed a postgraduate printmaking project with a state scholarship.

Her research interests emphasize experimental techniques in art, including digital prints and interdisciplinary approaches. Recent exhibitions include the 2018 International Biennial Print Exhibit in Taiwan and the AGORA DIGITAL 2018 Triennial in Hungary. Her work is featured in major collections such as the National Gallery of Greece and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Taiwan.

Awards include the 1999 Premio Internazionale Biella for engraving and a state-funded postgraduate fellowship. She has curated academic initiatives, including organizing studios and selecting library materials at the University of the Aegean. She has supervised numerous student projects at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
