Scott Andrew is an interdisciplinary artist and educator specializing in multimedia, queer-oriented performance, and installation art. He currently holds academic roles as Adjunct Assistant Professor at Carnegie Mellon University's School of Art and Teaching Track Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh's Studio Arts Department. His work explores themes of queer futurity, LGBTQ+ identities, and speculative fantasy through dynamic collaborations with dancers and performers like Jesse Factor. Andrew co-curates TQ Live!, a longstanding LGBTQ+ performance series, and organizes Fail-Safe, a performance support initiative funded by the National Endowment for the Arts.
Education: MFA from Carnegie Mellon University (2013), BFA from West Virginia University (2004).
Research Interests: Queer artistic expression, digital media, performance art, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Key projects include I Am A Haunted House (2020) and Chimera (2020), both blending dance, technology, and queer narratives. Andrew's work has been exhibited globally at institutions like MoMA, the J. Paul Getty Museum, and the Hammer Museum.
Recent exhibitions include the 2025 Stephen Lawrence Gallery show Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger, and 2024's Neither Here Nor There. Awards include NEA grants and Black Cube Fellowships.
