Scherto Gill

Scherto Gill is a Professor at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, Director of the Global Humanity for Peace Institute, and Senior Fellow at the Guerrand-Hermès Foundation for Peace. She serves as an Associate Lecturer at Sussex and coordinates the UNESCO Initiative towards Collective Healing, Social Justice and Well-Being. She chairs the G20 Interfaith Forum’s Education Working Group and is affiliated with organizations like the Royal Society of the Arts (FRSA), Taos Institute, and Spirit of Humanity Forum.

Her research interests span peacebuilding education, narrative pedagogy, and intercultural/interreligious education. She advocates for human-centered educational frameworks and relational evaluation models, challenging instrumentalized approaches to governance and learning. Her work integrates Gadamerian hermeneutics into dialogue ethics and examines post-conflict educational reconstruction in regions like the Lebanon and Arab world.

Recent publications focus on collective trauma healing and global well-being, with the 2022 Luxembourg Peace Award recognizing her contributions. She co-edits the DeGruyter Book Series on Re-Imagining Public Governance and leads initiatives like the Urban Playground for child-friendly city planning.
