Sayed Elhoushy

Dr. Sayed Elhoushy is a Senior Lecturer in Marketing at Queen Mary University of London's School of Business and Management. He serves as Programme Director for MSc International Marketing and Business Strategies and is affiliated with the Department of Marketing. His roles include teaching, research leadership, and academic administration.

Elhoushy holds a PhD in Management-Business Economics from Ca' Foscari University of Venice, alongside an MSc in Hospitality Management and an MRes in Management. He brings over a decade of academic experience across four countries, including teaching at the University of Surrey and Alexandria University.

His research focuses on sustainability marketing, sustainable consumer behavior, and technology adoption. Key interests include food waste reduction, second-hand market dynamics, and the intersection of consumer behavior with crises and environmental values. His work contributes to UN SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) and has been published in journals like Journal of Sustainable Tourism and International Journal of Consumer Studies.

Elhoushy actively engages in public and academic outreach, including collaborations with NGOs like the East London Garden Society and contributions to EU-funded projects such as Cities2030. He reviews for top journals like Journal of Consumer Behaviour and serves on grant review panels for the Swiss National Science Foundation.

His teaching spans strategic marketing, sustainability ethics, and hospitality management, emphasizing UN PRME principles. Current supervision areas include AI in sustainable consumption and tourism policy. He holds the prestigious Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
