Dr Saurabh Mishra is a Senior Lecturer in History (post-1800) at the School of History, Philosophy and Digital Humanities within the University of Sheffield. He joined the university in 2012, after completing his PhD at the University of Oxford (2008) and a Wellcome Trust Research Fellowship.

His research focuses on the social history of colonial and post-colonial South Asia, with specific expertise in:
- History of Science and Medicine
- Colonial Policies and Agrarian Structures

- Human-Animal Relations
- Medical Regimes in Colonial Contexts
Recent publications examine medical surveillance in indentured labor, gender and science in colonial ornithology, and animal health policies under British rule. His work bridges environmental history, labor studies, and medical humanities.

Advising and Grants: Served as second supervisor for PhD candidate Apurba Chatterjee, and received Wellcome Trust funding for colonial medical research.
