Satyakam Sharma

Satyakam Sharma is a Professor of Design for Sustainability at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) since 2017. He holds a Ph.D. in Design from Hong Kong Polytechnic University, an M.Des. in Industrial Design from IIT Delhi, and a B.A. in Production Engineering from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University. Prior to academia, he led design teams at Videocon Industries, Lumium Design, and Pentair Water, focusing on consumer electronics, home appliances, and water filtration systems.

His research explores how design can drive behavior change for environmental sustainability. He has published on gaming-driven sustainability, team leadership in design, and community engagement strategies. He sits on the Board of Studies for Industrial Design at the School of Planning and Architecture, Delhi.

Notable awards include the I-Design Award for a post-operative knee brace and recognition for a foldable bicycle design. His work bridges industrial applications with social impact, emphasizing collaborative innovation and ethical design practices.
