Ty Atwood

Ty Atwood is a Professor of furniture design at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) since Fall 2023. His professional roles include Senior Designer at Harbour (2021–23) and Designer at Brown Jordan (2019–21), where he led furniture product development for hospitality and trade sectors. He holds an M.F.A. and B.F.A. in furniture design and painting, both from SCAD.

His research interests focus on innovative furniture design for residential and commercial markets, integrating creative direction for marketing assets like CGI, photography, and catalogs. He has showcased work at events such as The International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) and Wanted Design in New York.

Award highlights include the SCAD School of Building Arts Outstanding Achievement Award and Interior Design Magazine's NYCxDesign Award. He is affiliated with the American Society of Furniture Designers (ASFD) and Tau Sigma Delta honor society.
