Sarah Wilson

Sarah Wilson serves as Senior Lecturer and Course Lead for the Foundation Degree Nursing Associate (FDNA) programme within the Department of Apprenticeships & CPD at the University of Worcester. She is a registered Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (Health Visiting), Supplementary Prescriber, and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant with extensive experience across adult nursing, health visiting, and clinical education.

Her educational credentials include RN (Adult) qualification, BA (Hons), Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (Health Visiting), International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education, and Associate Fellowship of Advance HE (AFHEA) with ongoing pursuit of Senior Fellowship.

Wilson's research focuses on enhancing nursing student experiences through digital learning innovations and simulation technologies, particularly examining Nursing Associate role integration within clinical teams. Her teaching specialisms span child development, safeguarding protocols, postnatal mental health interventions, community nursing practices, and infant feeding education. She has secured collaborative projects including an Innovate UK-funded virtual reality initiative for pharmacology education developed with the University of Manchester.

As an External Examiner for Glasgow Caledonian University, she actively shapes national nursing education standards while maintaining strong commitment to inclusive learning environments. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes practice-informed pedagogy utilizing experiential and digital tools to build clinical confidence through reflection and collaboration, with particular focus on academic integrity in student assessment.
