Katie Cowell is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Worcester's School of Nursing and Midwifery, within the Department of Apprenticeships & CPD. She has over 30 years of NHS experience, initially in cardiothoracic intensive therapy nursing, followed by roles in general practice nursing, workforce transformation, and education leadership. She holds an MSc in Advancing Practice and a PGCE in Medical and Healthcare Education.
Education:
- MSc in Advancing Practice
- PGCE in Medical and Healthcare Education
Teaching & Research Interests: Cardiovascular disease, health promotion, chronic disease management, acute patient presentations, and clinical education in primary care. She currently teaches on courses FDNA 1201, FDNA 2201, FDNA 2002, and NDA 1006.
Professional Experience:
- Former NHS England regional general practice nursing fellow
- Education and training lead at the Hereford and Worcester training hub
- Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) in general practice
Labs/Teams: Active in multi-professional primary care education programs through the School of Nursing and Midwifery.
