Sam Targett is the Course Leader for the BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy programme and Senior Lecturer in Physiotherapy at the University of Worcester's School of Health and Wellbeing, Department of Allied Health. With a clinical background focused on Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy for adults and children since 2007, Sam has extensive NHS experience, including roles at the UK's largest Cardiothoracic specialist centre. She previously contributed to the MSc Physiotherapy (pre-registration) programme at the University of Lincoln and managed clinical placements for Allied Health professions.

Teaching & Research Interests: Sam teaches Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy, Pathophysiology, and Practice Placement education across BSc and MSc Physiotherapy programmes. She emphasizes supporting students in clinical practice through Coaching for Practice sessions and serves as a Personal Academic Tutor. Her work integrates clinical expertise with innovative educational practices in Allied Health.
Advising & Grants: Sam oversees student clinical placements and manages interdisciplinary teams in NHS trusts. Her focus includes enhancing student transition from theory to practice.
Labs/Teams: Integral member of the Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy teams at Worcester, contributing to curriculum development and interprofessional education initiatives.
