Katy Boagey is a Senior Lecturer in Advanced Clinical Practice at Teesside University's School of Health and Life Sciences (SHLS Nursing & Midwifery). She holds dual registration as a nurse in the UK and Australia, with a clinical background in cardiothoracic and general intensive care nursing. Her specialist interests include multiprofessional education, clinical simulation, heart/lung transplant care, and cardiovascular mechanical support.
Previously, she has served as a clinical lecturer for postgraduate intensive care nursing students, held casual academic roles at Australian Catholic University and Queensland University of Technology, and was Course Leader for practice education at Coventry University Scarborough. She currently also acts as an Independent Assessor for the MSc Advanced Clinical Practice Apprenticeship at the University of York.
Boagey’s academic qualifications include a BSc (Hons) from Teesside University (2007), a Master of Nursing (Clinical Education) from James Cook University (2019), and a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (2022). She is additionally a certified Resuscitation Instructor (ACCCN, 2021).
