Dr. Sarah Williams is a Lecturer in the Social Work & Human Services (ECDF) department at RMIT Australia's School of GUSS. Her academic work focuses on Culturally Responsive Practice (CRP) and praxis (theory-action-reflection cycles). She holds a PhD (2023) in Action Research addressing racial social justice through creative arts-based interventions. Her research emphasizes youth-led initiatives, intercultural communities, and systemic change.
Teaching focuses include 'Femme Pedagogy,' Indigenous Wisdom integration, intercultural communication, and antiracism advocacy. She coordinates courses in Community Work and Youth Work WIL Placement programs. Her pedagogy prioritizes decolonizing education, trauma-informed approaches, and creative placemaking.
Williams co-founded Footprint Enterprises Inc., fostering social change through art and youth engagement. She aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals 10 (Reduced Inequalities), 11 (Sustainable Cities), 16 (Peace/Justice), and 4 (Quality Education). Her work bridges academic research and community action, with a commitment to addressing systemic racism and amplifying minoritized voices.
