Dana E. Wright is a Professor of Education at the Graduate School of Education, Northeastern University. She holds a BA from Vassar College, an MA and EdD from Harvard Graduate School of Education. Her work focuses on youth participatory action research (PAR), critical arts pedagogies, and educational equity in urban contexts. She has over two decades of experience in curriculum development, youth organizing, and organizational transformation.
Her research emphasizes youth agency in addressing social inequities, leveraging creative arts and participatory methodologies. Key contributions include the book Active Learning: Social Justice Education and Participatory Action Research and co-editing Engaging Youth in Critical Arts Pedagogies and Creative Research for Social Justice. Her work has been supported by grants from the National Institutes of Health and William T. Grant Foundation.
Professor Wright collaborates with teachers, youth, and communities to advance educational justice. Her articles explore themes like critical pedagogy, youth-led activism, and organizational change. She advocates for systemic reforms through participatory frameworks and community-engaged scholarship.
