Sarah Wall

Dr. Sarah Wall is a Practitioner Tutor in the School of Education at the University of Birmingham, affiliated with the Department of Disability Inclusion and Special Needs. Her roles include teaching on MEd and MA programs related to Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties, and supervising dissertations. She has lectured at multiple institutions, including the University of Northampton and Anglia Ruskin University, focusing on Special Educational Needs and Inclusion.

Education: She holds a PhD from the University of Birmingham (2017) on attachment difficulties in education, alongside advanced qualifications in educational research and autism. Her career spans teaching, SEN Coordination, and specialist roles in SEBD and autism support.

Research interests include associative disability discrimination, neurodiversity in higher education, autism, and the intersection of attachment and educational practices. Current projects include collaborations with Sampoerna University (Indonesia) on neurodiversity support and the use of the Coventry Grid assessment tool in family studies. She co-presented winning research on associative disability at the World Disability Conference.

Awards: Received the 'Best Conference Presentation' at the World Disability and Rehabilitation Conference (2024, with colleague from Anglia Ruskin University). Her advisory work includes supervising doctoral research on topics like male mental health and SEND careers advice.
